The best collage ideas DVD that I’ve ever run across is the one by mixed media artist Anne Bagby. The DVD is produced by Creative Catalyst Productions and available for sale at their website.

Collage is becoming more and more popular all the time. You’re probably aware that the origins of collage can be traced back hundreds of years. Of course, it’s often associated with Picasso and Braque with its reappearance in the early 20th century.

As a talented mixed media artist, Anne Bagby demonstrates her unique collage techniques, including how to create your own stamps, masks, stencils, and paper as you build a truly unique collage painting.

What I like best about this collage workshop is Anne’s layering techniques, which create interesting and mysterious surfaces.

If like many artists, you find yourself being a little too careful or fussy with your artwork, you’ll be inspired by Anne Bagby’s fast and loose approach.

Collage materials may include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or hand-made papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas.

Anne makes all her own collage materials, including her own stencils and stamps. In the DVD she shows how to transfer antique designs to hand-carved stamps and cut contact paper masks to guide custom stencils. Anne says she would use store-bought stencils if she could just find ones that are interesting enough!

Another thing you’ll enjoy about this collage DVD is how Anne combines stamped and painted patterns to create the wafer-thin paper she uses throughout the workshop. Anne uses an experimental process, working simultaneously on five figures.

The reason why Anne works on multiple collages at a time is so that she feels free to takes risks with the weakest, using the freedom of collage to find creative solutions.

I think you’ll be totally inspired by the collage ideas presented in this excellent DVD.

If you wish to challenge yourself since you are in a rut you will discover painting to be the best hobby. It’s good to know the basics even though it is easy enough to go shopping and pick up some paint and canvas and get directly to it. Enrolling in a brief course is a great start as doing this you have to invest in it, and you have a person to guide you. It’s always best to research what is available in your area as each and every town or city has several courses. One course that is perfect for beginners is when a professional artist operates a course from their residence.

I found landscape painting, watercolour painting, abstract painting, and portrait painting available throughout the year by a local artist in my region. My teacher had us bring an image to the class of what the students wanted to paint, it was the starting place. I genuinely enjoyed that part of the class. He went through the basic principles in the first few lessons. He outlined the concept of the colour wheel, and explained lines, materials and shapes.

All of us have the ability to take advantage of their creative potential. It is very important to understand that. I don’t like it when people declare ‘I am not artistic’ or ‘I can’t paint’…of course you can, everyone can You should not judge yourself too harshly, in addition to, to be kind to yourself. Painting isn’t the easiest undertaking. It takes time to cultivate a skill, but if you give it the required time you will make progress and soon be quite adept at it. In life, we’re our own worst critics. When a painting doesn’t turn out the way in which we want we can get frustrated. Do not get stuck on that! You have to remember back off from your work sometimes too, as it is tough to see the big picture when you’re too close to something.

The excellent thing concerning painting is the process is therapeutic. It is possible to become incredible tranquil from the process of mixing colours and then applying them to a canvas. Staring at a blank canvas can be a little overwhelming at first, but the truth is you can do whatever you wish with it. Abstract art is plenty of fun. It is not important what you set out to do let your inspiration be your guide. Just see what occurs when you smear paint where you want it. Painting is sloppy but so much fun. It is extremely easy to lose time as you go into the ‘zone’. Before you know it five hours have gone by. I’ve discovered that I never walk out of my art class stressed-out. You can have a catharsis that is beneficial to the soul.

Should you have a full time job that is no excuse as many individuals offer workshops after working hours. It’s not so time intensive to commit to a class once a week for six weeks. You will get the opportunity to create something genuinely distinctive. What are you waiting for?

Everyone knows what it feels like to be in a rut, trapped in a pattern of circumstances that we cannot escape. Sometimes, those circumstances change by themselves, but more often we need to take action to ensure that we don’t become stuck in a rut.

Lying quiescent inside you is a creative genius waiting patiently to break out, to surface, to manifest itself and to realise its potential. Every person has equal access to becoming great. Creativity is among your holy birthrights. Why then, do some of the people become stars, artists, or famous writers, while others fail to fully use their potential? It’s a good question and there are plenty of answers.

The main reason is that many people are born with creative blocks, feed ourselves negative messages, and receive and accept negative messages from others. A creative block can be anything that stops you from manifesting your potential. It can be physical, emotional, or even spiritual in nature. A creative block can stop you from finishing a project and it can prevent you from promoting the work that you complete.

The most typical creative blocks are:

The Negativeness of Others. This block occurs if you ceaselessly receive negative messages like, “You can’t,” “You’re not good enough,” or “It will be too difficult,” to such an extent that you start to accept the negative statements as if they are correct.

Your Own Negativity. This block occurs when you are saying to yourself, “You aren’t creative,” “You are not good enough,” or “Everything will be too difficult,” so frequently that you think it.

Fear of Failure (or Success). Some of us essentially know that we possess overwhelming talent but fear failure and/or success such a lot that we unconsciously block our own potential. The thought of change could be too frightening.

Do you worry that if you succeed that it will cause your workmates to feel depressed or inferior? Are you afraid that your loved ones will feel left behind you? This Feeling of Unworthiness (Real or Imaginary) stops many from fulfilling their potential.

Metaphorically speaking, overblown fears are like stop lights along the road to success. It’s important that you identify any inappropriate fears and release them so that your stop lights do not turn into roadblocks. As you overcome blocks your confidence will rise. After you feel your confidence rise, hang onto that enabling feeling. Building your confidence can be done in a number of ways. Some use self-hypnosis (or a hypnosis mp3) or meditation. What method you use you will find that confidence works like Kryptonite in conquering and stopping creative blocks.

An award winning hypnotist, Julie Griffin is the author of many hypnosis mp3 and hypnosis scripts proven to help you make the changes to your life that you want.
Music has relaxing effect on our feelings that may help us generate new ideas. Studies have indicated that particular types of music can affect moods and creativity.

Music has relaxing effect on our feelings that may help us generate new ideas. Studies have indicated that particular types of music can affect moods and creativity.

Our brain centers linked with emotional response are also linked to our capability to function creatively. Music has the potentiality to excite these brain centres and help us think about creative ideas. Both music and creativity involve similar processes and features such as intuition, abstract symbols, and holistic interpretations of information. Musical composition is a creative activity as well. Given this relationship between music and creativity, it makes sense that music can help excite new ideas.

Studies have proven that Baroque music synchronizes brain waves at about sixty cycles per second, and this relaxed alpha state is linked with creative thinking. It’s worth doing your own experiments by listening to different kinds of music to find out the effects it has on you when you are in different moods. If your energy is small, turning up the speakers and listening to rock music may get your brain cells sparking. If tension gets in the way of your creativity, you may benefit by using Solfeggio music scale or Gregorian chant.

Yot may even want to make a soundtrack for every one of your various creative activities. Soviet writer Boris Akunin told one day that before he begins writing, he plays 5 or 10 minutes of music to get into the right climate. To achieve a problem-solving mind-set, choose the second Solfeggio frequency, 417 Hz. There’s an alternate way you are able to add music to your creativity toolbox: wait till you are in a creative mood naturally, then play Solfeggio album that strengthens the mood. Do this on two or three separate occasions, each time employing the same album. Afterward, if you do not feel creative but would like to, put on that music and it will produce the mood by organisation

Solfeggio music enhances cognitive talents and reasoning capacity, increases oral and other facets of memory, improves concentration and self-expression. This type of music greatly help you in becoming more creative person.

Creativity is a beautiful thing but being in a creative state is not always that easy. It's not like flicking a light switch on.

Creativity is a beautiful thing but being in a creative state is not always that easy. It’s not like flicking a light switch on.

Here are some tips to help you be more creative and get in a creative mood.

The first tip I can give you is to hang around with other people that are creative. We are often a product of our environment so if you hang around people that are creative then this will rub off on you.

Exposing your self to different things is a great way to get some creative juices flowing. For example if you usually listen to rock music then listen to rap for a while. If you’re a fantasy writer then read some crime drama and expose your mind to new things.

It’s important for your creative mind that you never stop learning things. Your mind is a sponge and learning new things will give you lots more creativity. So read more books.

A top tip I can give you is to carry a pad and pen around with you and when you find something that catches your eye write it down so you can get some creativity from later.

Another tip that can expand your creativity is to not judge yourself. If you have an idea and start off by thinking it’s stupid then that’s not good. Just let your ideas flow and write them down, no matter how silly they may seem.

Going for walks is a great way to get your creative juices flowing. Just follow where your feet go and see new places. Uk Cheapest Car Insurance . It’s nice to go for a walk and get some fresh air and just have a think.

Another excellent way to be more creative and to get ideas is to meditate. Meditating is a great time to get some ideas. Or just resting on your bed and having a think.

You may not know this but a really good way to be more creative is to exercise every day. Exercise helps to keep your body and mind sharp. And going for a good jog can release some great ideas.

If you’re looking for more creativity in your life then remember these tips for the future.
