Whenever we want to save money on power bills and the like, we often turn to things like strip lighting to lower expenses. But there is another much more dangerous side effect that strikes some people down. People who have epilepsy have been known to have seizures after standing under this kind of light. The constant flickering activates and over excites the brain waves which can set off a fit. Since serious seizures can cause death by choking etc it is vital that anyone who is susceptible stays out of the way when these lights are on.

In a similar trend, strobe lighting in discos and theaters also have the same effect on those individuals who suffer from epilepsy. These places or programs which will be showing some kind of strobe effect have taken to producing a warning sign to avoid any kind of tragedy from occurring. However, the problem lies in the unexpected flash of light in some stage shows or on TV programs when the light takes them by surprise.

Because of the sustainability of these kinds of strip lamps, people around the world are using them more and more because they can save the world by using less power and resources. Since a lot of countries, and this includes third world countries too, are trying also to cut down on emissions some first world countries are awarding carbon credits to those countries who actively cut emissions. However, it is actually the first world countries which are causing more pollution than the emerging economies. With the ever growing problem with weather patterns changing, the whole world had learned that everyone must try their best if we are to be saved!
